We have a full-time open position for a creative Copywriter at our successful Charlotte, NC-based brand development agency. The position offers a diverse range of interesting projects on ambitious national and international CPG (consumer packaged goods) brands that are looking to dramatically grow on the retail stage. The right candidate will bring a healthy balance of passion for consumer insights and strategy with a drive to do the best creative work of their career. We are specialist at what we do: helping clients introduce and grow their products in categories such as food, snacks, beverages, pet and health and beauty.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate and support designers and strategists; Position reports to Creative Director
- Brainstorming, creating, and transforming conceptual ideas into words for applications such as:
- Product naming and descriptions
- Brand taglines and headlines
- Articles, blogs, emails and website content
- Brand positioning, foundation, and stories
- Print collateral (i.e. flyers, brochures, sell sheets, print ads, packaging, billboards)
- Video and radio scripts
- Social Media posts
- Press releases
- Internal presentation and self-promotional materials
- Write clear, concise, grammatically correct, and “on brand” content
- Drive the creation of original and conceptual creative that results in effective and compelling messaging
- Understand and adapt to different tone, voice, and language styles of a brand
- Develop and maintain a clear and consistent brand voice across all channels
- Revise, edit, and proofread content as needed
- Execute projects on time and on budget
- Skillfully present written work by advocating the agency point-of-view
- Stay organized and follow existing agency protocols
- Autonomously manage assigned projects and/or clients
- Provide regular, accurate project status information to creative director and account lead
- Professionally, confidently—fiercely!—represent the agency in front of clients, online and at industry events
- Share experiences, knowledge, advice and ideas through occasional blog and social posts
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor degree in a relevant field
- Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and creative problem solving
- 5+ years experience as a professional copywriter
- Agency experience preferred
- CPG experience preferred
SKILLS
- Focused and organized
- Show proficiency to apply brand thinking and design across multiple mediums
- Exceptional computer skills. Macintosh operating platform a must
- Proficiency in Google Apps, WordPress, Keynote, Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and provide marketable solutions in conceiving, developing, and producing tactics
- Willingness to learn and expand knowledge in regard to our industry and marketplace
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to understand complex information and translate it into effective copy
- Show a passion for design as it relates to business cases and strategy
